CARD Donates Funds from Art Auction to National Non-Profit Autism Organization

The CARD Virginia office raised nearly $4,000 in donations for ACT Today! (Autism Care and Treatment Today!), a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise awareness and provide treatment services and support to families to help their children with autism achieve their full potential. CARD Virginia raised the funds through the sale of artwork and crafts at the Art Auction for Autism fundraiser, held on April 30, 2011.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be able to bring the community together and help raise autism awareness and much needed funds for children with autism and related disorders,” says CARD Virginia Managing Supervisor Mary Ann Cassell, MA, BCBA. “ACT Today! is doing incredible work in providing resources and grants to families who can’t afford the necessary tools – be it helmets, social skills groups or biomedical treatment. We are proud to support their mission.”

All artwork provided for the Art Auction for Autism event was created and donated by CARD Virginia staff, clients and community members. “We hope to be able to host the Art Auction for Autism each year, “ says CARD Office Manager Chelsea Burton. “We thank the community for its continuous support.”
