CARD and Skills received a very warm welcome at the AutismOne/Generation Rescue Conference held this past week (May 25-29, 2011) at the Westin Hotel in Lombard, Illinois. Approximately 2,000 parents and practitioners attended this year’s free conference. Many visited the CARD and Skills exhibit booth located in the main lobby of the Westin Hotel.
“I’m so happy that I was able to attend this year’s conference,” says parent Jillian Peterson of Michigan. “I’ve heard about both CARD and Skills and was determined to make my way from Michigan to see Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh speak. I had no idea that I would also be able to meet Joe [Mohs], who recovered from autism. It gives me hope that my child may recover.”
Actress and autism advocate Jenny McCarthy met with Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh and Team Skills during the conference. CARD announced last Wednesday that it would donate proceeds from new user subscriptions of Skills to actress and autism advocate Jenny McCarthy’s nonprofit organization, Generation Rescue, during the week of the conference.
Several media groups (Windy City Times, Chicago Parent Magazine, AutismOne live streaming) interviewed Team Skills and Dr. Granpeesheh on the effectiveness of Skills’ Web-based program and CARD’s state-of-the-art therapy which have produced seen measurable results with every child since 1990.
