2011 Annual Charity Golf Classic For Autism

This last Monday, ACT  Today! hosted the 2011 Annual Charity Golf Classic to raise money and awareness for autism.This year’s event was hosted by Joe Mantegna (The Godfather Part III, Searching For Bobby Fischer, Forget Paris, Criminal Minds)who is the father of a daughter with autism.

Celebrity golfers included: actor Joe Mantegna (“Criminal Minds”), world renowned autism expert Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh, actor Joel Murray (“Criminal Minds”), actor Bobby Costanzo (“Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer”), actor John Capodice (“Without a Trace”), Michael Reagan, son of former President Ronald Reagan, 5-year old golf phenom Jaden Cantafio, actor Jason Gedrick (“Necessary Roughness”), actor Robert Torti (“Suite Life on Deck”).

Sponsors included: Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Inc. (CARD), Taste Chicago, TWIW Insurance Services, LLC, Liberty Mutual, Howard Building Corporation, Retirement Benefits Group, Newport/Naples Rib Company, Wells Fargo, Kirsch, Kohn & Bridge LLP, Joel Surnow, Vista Lexus, Honda of Hollywood, Outdoor Channel, California Cars, Apptico Technology Group, LLC, CBS, Cherie Zaun, Trillium Sports Medicine, Calabasas Dental Care, and Tile City & Stone.

Committee members consists of golf professionals, business and community leaders, including: co-chairs Tanner Bicklehaupt and Beau Hale of TWIW Insurance Services, LLC; Read Jackson of Apptico Technology Group, LLC, professional golfer Greg Goad, Dr. Peter Grossman of the Grossman Burn Center, independent contractor Keith Miler, Dr. Michael Spagnoli of Trillium Sports Medicine, two time NFL Super Bowl Champion Chris Hayes, and ACT Today! president and world renowned autism expert Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh.

The tournament began with a shotgun start at 10:30 am and included a modified “best ball” format, three-par challenges & other contests, followed by cocktails and dinner reception with a live auction.

The winners of this year’s tournament are (seen in picture with Joe Mantegna) Greg Goad, Dave Carmel, Johnny Bruce, and Justin Walker.
