CARD’s New School In Virginia Will Address The Critical Need Of Children with Autism

The Center for Autism and Related Disorders announces the grand opening of its first school, the CARD Virginia School. It’s located at 5400 Shawnee Road, Suite 208 in Alexandria, Virginia. The CARD Virginia School is a Private Special Education School licensed by the Virginia Department of Education.

“Our teachers are nothing less than the best in the field. They are Board Certified Behavior Analysts and certified teachers who have had years of experience treating and teaching children with autism.” says Mary Ann Cassell, CARD VA Managing Supervisor. “With the use of applied behavior analysis (ABA), we are confident that the unique needs of each student can be met.”

The curriculum is based on the Virginia Department of Education standards and is enhanced by CARD’s very own web-based program called, Skills®. CARD Virginia school also uses researched-based-and-proven methodologies and an individualized curriculum in order to help each child attain his or her maximum potential in the least restrictive environment. The program and techniques are designed for each individual child with autism or an autism spectrum disorder.

The CARD Virginia School is now accepting enrollments for the 2011-2012 school year for children with autism and related disorders.
