After spending 6 years working for CARD in Austin, leaving was definitely bittersweet. It was tough saying goodbye to families and kids that we had worked with, but everyone was very happy for us moving on to open the CARD Massachusetts office.
Katie Giboney, another supervisor, who became a really close friend of ours in the Austin office, set up a going away party for us at Torchy’s Tacos. Almost all the CARD Austin office came out to say goodbye. It was a great night of reminiscing with friends over tacos and queso. We were really touched at the support our office showed by coming out and celebrating with us.
On Monday, we packed all our belongings into an ABF trailer (how did we collect so much stuff??)… hopefully we will see it again on Friday. We started our 2,100 mile journey on Monday evening, deciding to stay one last night in Texas before we head on.
More updates to come. Massachusetts here we come!
