FDA Validates CARD Study Disputing the Effectiveness of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy on Individuals with Autism

We salute the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for increasing consumer awareness of the ineffectiveness of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) as a treatment for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The FDA released a report on Aug. 22, 2013, stating that “HBOT has not been clinically proven to cure or be effective in the treatment of autism, cancer, or diabetes, nor has it been approved by FDA.”

Autism Live is today launching a new online portal, called “Parent 2 Parent,” featuring informative two-minute clips to educate parents on all things related to autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ranging from “Does my child have autism?” to more targeted issues, such as “How do I prepare for an IEP meeting?”

September Smarty 2013

September

We’ve been back in school for one week and I’m already dreading the morning crunch. My daughter has no problem waking up at 6am on weekends, but Monday morning rolls around and I am shaking her awake at 7:30. Things go downhill from there; she drags her feet with every morning activity, creating a ton of stress for everyone involved.

Back to School

School

“Back to School” is a lot of “new” for a child who finds comfort in daily routines and relies on the fulfillment of specific expectations. “Back to School” can also mean a lot of stress for the parents of that child.
